Cousins

Have you ever had a friend or family member that you completely connected with?  I, throughout childhood, had a cousin who lived far enough away that I only saw him once or twice a year.  For the first few minutes of each get-together we were shy, a little quiet and weren’t quite sure about what to say or do.  But then, after the first hour or so, we were the best of friends again.  It was as though time had not elapsed and we picked up right where we left off.  This is the experience I witnessed over the past couple of days with my sons and nephews. They live  2600 miles apart and are only privileged to see each other once a year, but, they picked up right where they left off last year when they saw each other a couple of days ago.  They immediately started planning what they would do for next couple of days.  The following days were filled with laughter and smiles, as well as a moment or two of mischief.  Using Grandpa’s wood pile as a fort was just one example of creative fun!

  1. Robyn, What a wonderful side to you that I didn’t know about until talking with your Mom today, as we both had snow days from our school jobs. Your pictures are beautiful. Finding something that you love to do is a great blessing in life.

I am so happy that you and Jay keep in touch. (Noticed your story about your cousin who you have only occasional contact with and pick up where you left off).

    Keep up the great work!
