The Pacific Northwest was our destination of choice for vacation this year. We traveled the Oregon Coast and through the states of Washington and Idaho. During our drive from Oregon to Washington we went through Cascade Locks. I saw the opportunity for the first image right as we entered the town. I had to stop to capture this man’s essence. He was so charming. When I asked if I could photograph him he said “Sure, my name is…” If only I could remember his name. But I kid you not, it was something similar to Bobby Dean Jones that just totally fit him and his personality.
For a more artistic spin on cherries, I spent a bit of time photographing the very delicious jewels I had in my kitchen.
“Life is just a bowl of cherries, dont take it serious, its mysterious. Life is just a bowl of cherries, so live and laugh and laugh at love, love a laugh, laugh and love.” – Bob Fosse
“When I sound the fairy call, gather here in silent meeting,
Chin to knee on the orchard wall, cooled with dew and cherries eating.
Merry, merry, take a cherry, mine are sounder, mine are rounder,
Mine are sweeter for the eater, when the dews fall, and you’ll be fairies all.
” – Emily Dickinson
“If life is a bowl of cherries, then what am I doing in the pits?” – Erma Bombeck
“Life is just a bowl of cherries.” – Proverb

Cherries are one of my favorite fruits and this summer I found some called Strawberry Cherries. Great photograph of the man selling the cherries. I think his name might be George.
Strawberry cherries…hmmmm, they sound wonderful! I’d like to try them! And you may be right, his name may have been George. You don’t by chance know him do you Mary?
No, I don’t know George. I just thought that might be his name. He looks like he has a gentle nature about him and a kind face.
great photos, Robyn, I really like how you captured the light in your photos. The photo of the gentleman is a gem indeed, who would not buy cherries from such a gentle looking man.
groetjes, Francina
Thanks Francina! He does have a sweet face, doesn’t he? Have a great evening! Robyn

Congratulations on your selection. It’s well deserved.
He lied for the sake of anonymity. He is actually one of the Marx Brothers. I think his name is Zappo!
Oh Emilio! You make me laugh!!!
