Christmas Cactus Series – 2013

“And the Grinch, with his Grinch-feet ice cold in the snow,
stood puzzling and puzzling, how could it be so? It came without ribbons.
It came without tags. It came without packages, boxes or bags.
And he puzzled and puzzled ’till his puzzler was sore.
Then the Grinch thought of something he hadn’t before.
What if Christmas, he thought, doesn’t come from a store.
What if Christmas, perhaps, means a little bit more.” – Dr. Seuss

  1. Oh, Robyn, your Christmas cactus blossoms are such a vivid, brilliant red! I showed them to my mother on my laptop, and she could see them! She laughed and pointed and then clapped her hands. How I wish I knew what she was thinking and how much was really getting through to her. But for a moment she was enjoying your colors and laughing. THAT is Christmas joy with dementia!

    • Marylin, You brought tears to my eyes when I read your post. I can just imagine your mother and a child-like grin and clapping her hands. So precious, so priceless. I’m thrilled to know I helped contribute to a happy Christmas moment for both of you. Hugs and love to you both! Robyn
