  1. Here in the swath of Ozarks cutting across southeast Kansas where I’m visiting my mother, the days of summer have changed to days of autumn. When I awoke this morning, however, they were the hazy days of autumn. There had been rain during the night, and before the morning sun could burn things off, there was a low covering magical and mystical fog covering the open fields up into the woods in the distance.
    I thought of you and imagined the wonderful photographs you could capture!
