“No other game combines the wonder of nature with the discipline of sport in such carefully planned ways. A great golf course both frees and challenges a golfer’s mind.” – Tom Watson
This image was taken during the 5:15 pm bagpipe session at Spanish Bay Golf Resort. The sun was setting and the haze, clouds, and colors were dynamic. I wanted to capture the bagpipe player in a mystical, yet methodical way, thus I used the background as my focus and captured the bagpipe player as a silhouette so that the mind naturally wonders to the sound of the music amidst the light and the ocean breeze.
To see this image in black and white – just as dramatic as the image in color, visit Monochromia, a black and white photography blog, for my Thursday post. I’d love to hear which image you prefer.
Have a fabulous weekend! And, may the sun be at your back.
Hi Robyn, definitely the colour one for me. Love the coconut-ice sky.
Gorgeous shot!
This is hauntingly beautiful! Love it
Oh, my gosh. This photograph really moved me. Reminded me of Mark Knopfler’s very beautiful “Piper to the End”: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZCAtVJSNdQE
Beautiful Robyn! Ahh this *is* Spanish Bay! I got my only eagle on this golf course on #2 hahaha. On my 50th birthday some years ago back when I was golfing.
