Pressure is On

It is dark in the world at times

Life drags and there are no rhymes

Isn’t this my prime?

Tests,

Stress,

Pressure is on.

I struggle through on days

Where it seems all are angry

And Gray.

Rules,

School,

Pressure is on.

People argue

Someone’s to blame

Life can seem so lame.

Practice,

Games,

Pressure is on.

Someone smiles

From across the hall

I no longer feel like crawling up in a ball.

Eyes

Bright

Take pressures away.

An “A”

I am on my way

To success for another day.

Smiles

High fives

Take pressures away.

I no longer feel life is taking a dive.

I see the light

I am going to thrive.

Parents

Love

Take pressures away.

The light at the end of the tunnel

Sends me beams of hope

Life is not a funnel*.

Colors

Hope

Take pressures away.

I’m not spiraling down

I am pushing through

Without a frown.

Excitement

Joy

Take pressures away.

I jump

Life gives way

I begin to enjoy the day.

Faith

Peace

Take pressures away.

I jump,

Again,

I’m over the hump,

I smile,

Awhile.

Innocence

“I might have some character traits that some might see as innocence or naive. That’s because I discovered peace and happiness in my soul. And with this knowledge, I also see the beauty of human life.” – Toby Maquire

InnocenceInnocence

Depending on which reference used, the Gerbera Daisy represents innocence, thus the selection of the quote above.

I used light to create a feeling of  innocence in this photograph by creating a blown-out background.   I think this technique creates an ethereal feeling which enhances the mood of innocence.

Wishing you moments of innocence and recognition of the beauty of human life everyday!

Two

“To me, there are three things we all should do every day. We should do this every day of our lives. Number one is laugh. You should laugh every day. Number two is think. You should spend some time in thought. And number three is, you should have your emotions moved to tears, could be happiness or joy. But think about it. If you laugh, you think, and you cry, that’s a full day. That’s a heck of a day. You do that seven days a week, you’re going to have something special.” – Jim Valvano

The Stability Series, for now, is a two post series.  The images, shot using the same subject and background, are available in both horizontal and vertical formats.  Each image has a name representative of the color green and the color blue.  They were shot and named to be hung alone or as groupings.  The images are perfect for gift-giving for friends and loved ones going through difficult times. The names are meant to provide encouragement and inspiration for those in need of courage, strength or healing.

The World Spins

The World Spins

Stress Enters.

Life becomes overwhelming.

Stress becomes life.

The world spins.

We forget to breath.

The world spins.

Then suddenly,

The spinning slows.

And we stop,

And breath.

Once again

Light guides us forward,

And we carry on.

Carry on.

2013 Tulip Series – 11

The images I am posting tonight are both of reflections of tulips.  Be sure to notice the variation in the depth of field used for each image.  In addition, I hope you see the pairing of each image to the quote selected.

“The beginning of love is to let those we love be perfectly themselves, and not to twist them to fit our own image. Otherwise we love only the reflection of ourselves we find in them.” – Thomas Merton

Reflection of OthersReflection of Others

“Reflection is a flower of the mind, giving out wholesome fragrance; but revelry is the same flower, when rank and running to seed.” – Desiderius Erasmus

I chose the quote above based on the fact that each image presents the same tulips in different ways.  The images reminded me of not only change, but of an orchestra swaying and playing.   Perhaps if we look deeply enough we can see an orchestra of change.
