: It’s Heavenly…to be with You

A Double Exposure – White Lily Leaf and White Lily Bud

The title of the above image is based on the meaning of the white Lily in the Victorian Language of Flowers. The fact that the image is a double exposure of two flowers and was created with an ethereal feel helped make the meaning a perfect title.

I have a fabulous announcement to make. Yesterday I received an email with the subject line saying: “Congrats!” At first I thought it must be spam. Once I read the message and clicked on the link included in the text of the message I was pleasantly surprised. The link to BWGallerist led me to the home page which had a list of the “Best of the Best” of Emerging Fine Art Photographers of 2014. Guess what! My name was on that list! Her mother is an angel on earth who unfortunately suffers from Alzheimer’s disease. These two women have touched my heart and soul on many levels and I’ve fallen in love with their love of life, faith, and family. How to Choose?

I received a very nice message a week or so ago from Ajay:

I am very flattered, but I have to say I am overwhelmed by such a generous nomination. I have reviewed Ajay’s award selection and I cannot decide which awards to select for myself…Is it humility or confusion or lack of confidence? I am not sure which, but I just can’t award myself so to speak. With that said, in lieu of posting thumbnails of awards I am going to send you all to Ajay’s blog post and you can at least congratulate him on all of the awards he has received. Awards. Those little things that have the ability to influence our confidence, our motivation, and our lives in extraordinary ways. I was recently blessed to receive three blogger awards. I am still saying WOW! Me? Really?

When I began my photographic and writing journey I had no idea where it was going to lead me. How long the path would be, how wide my horizons would become, or how many wonderful people I would meet through the sharing of photographs and the written word. I am so grateful for the many wonderful people I have met and the many who have touched my life. Some of your stories are amazing, true tales of survival, humility, love, and honor. Some of your artistic abilities are so incredible that I am humbled every time I see your work or read your words. Thank you all for your support, your following, your “likes”, and especially for your comments that motivate and inspire me to keep posting.
