My Heart Aches for You
Sweet and Lovely
The titles of the photographs of red and white carnations are based on the meaning of red, white, and striped carnations in the Victorian Language of Flowers. I took the liberty to combine meanings and alter them a bit to ensure that the titles conveyed my vision and intention of each image.
Actions may at times lead you to believe you know,
Life’s ebb and flow cause you to blink,
And in that instance your mind questions
My devotion to our link.
My love, like art,
It will forever be.
As the touch of a feather
Lingers on your skin,
So too, will my love endure
A gentle breeze,
A cajoling force,
Oh the burning,
My heart is full of love for you.

Note: In the Victorian language of flowers cactus flowers represent “endurance” and “my heart burns for you”. The poem above was written with the aforementioned meanings in mind. Notice the red heart in the center of the bottom petal….I love the little miracles of nature!
The image posted above is titled heavenly because it appears that the flower petals float off into infinity, or heaven. It is dreamy, like pink clouds. The quote links the meaning of the peony, happy marriage, with the title of the image. Love and heaven united.
“Love doesn’t make the world go round. Love is what makes the ride worthwhile.” – Franklin P. Jones

Love Goes Around
The Ride of Love
The Tulip series is getting a little long so I thought I would try something different tonight and post multiple images. Yes, all are in black and white, this too is a change. Although these images were lovely in color, they moved me in black and white. I would love to hear your thoughts. Do you like them? Which do you like best?
