Blissful Light

“You must enshrine in your hearts the spiritual urge towards light and love, wisdom and bliss!”- Sri Sathya Sai Baba

Golden Peace

A wave of grace

Washes over the soul

As the golden glow

Of the sun recedes

Beyond the horizon.

A wave of golden warmth

Moves the heart

And stirs the emotions

Of then and now,

Of loves lost and gained,

For people who’ve come and gone

With the ebb and flow

Of the waves of life

Flowing near and far

Tempting the soul to grasp

The glory of the golden peace

That often lies beyond our reach.

Until, at last,

We concede to accept

The love and peace

Offered by –

The divine.

Her Vastness

We walk

hand in hand

As one

Towards her.

In her vastness

She threatens

To

Engulf us.

But,

At a moments notice

She kisses

Our toes

And

Recedes

Toward the

Golden Horizon

This image was taken with a wide open shutter at a speed of 1.3.  My goal was to capture the sunset while freezing the motion of the water to obtain the cotton candy effect.  You can see how white and solid the water is on the tide coming in/going out.  I love this effect and find it to be soothing and peaceful.  Have a fabulous week!

Edits: Unlike most of my images, which I perform minimal edits to, I went out on a limb and I edited this one in Photoshop using a color burn layer and texture.

I just wish that I had caught the light on the light house…  😦  When traveling with kids and a husband, however, patience is not in abundance.

I’d love to have your feedback.  What do you think?

Cherries

The Pacific Northwest was our destination of choice for vacation this year.  We traveled the Oregon Coast and through the states of Washington and  Idaho.  During our drive from Oregon to Washington we went through Cascade Locks.  I saw the opportunity for the first image right as we entered the town.  I had to stop to capture this man’s essence.  He was so charming.  When I asked if I could photograph him he said “Sure, my name is…”  If only I could remember his name.  But I kid you not, it was something similar to Bobby Dean Jones that just totally fit him and his personality.

For a more artistic spin on cherries, I spent a bit of time photographing the very delicious jewels I had in my kitchen.

Life is a Bowl of Cherries I

“Life is just a bowl of cherries, dont take it serious, its mysterious. Life is just a bowl of cherries, so live and laugh and laugh at love, love a laugh, laugh and love.” – Bob Fosse

Cherries are Mysterious

When I sound the fairy call, gather here in silent meeting,

Chin to knee on the orchard wall, cooled with dew and cherries eating.

Merry, merry, take a cherry, mine are sounder, mine are rounder,

Mine are sweeter for the eater, when the dews fall, and you’ll be fairies all.” – Emily Dickinson

A Lone Cherry

“If life is a bowl of cherries, then what am I doing in the pits?” – Erma Bombeck
