Two

“To me, there are three things we all should do every day. We should do this every day of our lives. Number one is laugh. You should laugh every day. Number two is think. You should spend some time in thought. And number three is, you should have your emotions moved to tears, could be happiness or joy. But think about it. If you laugh, you think, and you cry, that’s a full day. That’s a heck of a day. You do that seven days a week, you’re going to have something special.” – Jim Valvano

Fall Embrace

“Embrace relational uncertainty. It’s called romance. Embrace spiritual uncertainty. It’s called mystery. Embrace occupational uncertainty. It’s called destiny. Embrace emotional uncertainty. It’s called joy. Embrace intellectual uncertainty. It’s called revelation.” – Mark Batterson

Nature’s Fall Embrace

I am never good about embracing uncertainty.  But, after reading the above quote I am going to work on it. It may not be all bad.

Our Actions Affect Others

We don’t set out to save the world; we set out to wonder how other people are doing and to reflect on how our actions affect other people’s hearts. – Pema Chodron

Someone I saw during a recent trip in NYC that I had to stop and photograph. When I asked if I could photograph him, he said “why not?”.

For You….Mom and Liz

My mother and sister, and her daughters came to visit this week.  I haven’t laughed so much in months and enjoyed absolutely every moment of the time we had together.  Despite the loads and loads of laundry and the stacks and stacks of dishes, I am missing them tonight.  It feels almost like a homesick Sunday evening…ever have that feeling?

Miss you Mom, Liz and girls!

Let Yourself Feel

“Many of us spend our whole lives running from feeling with the mistaken belief that you cannot bear the pain.  But you have already borne the pain.  What you have not done is feel all that you are beyond that pain.” – Bartholomew

The Rhododendron Blooms

Don’t be afraid to let yourself feel.

Feel love, give love, and accept love, when you have the opportunity.  Don’t let the special moments pass you by because of a fear of emotional pain.  You will gain much more than you will lose.

Do you like change, or resist it?

“People don’t resist change. They resist being changed!”- Peter Senge
