“Everything is blooming most recklessly; if it were voices instead of colors, there would be an unbelievable shrieking into the heart of the night.” – Rainer Maria Rilke, Letters of Rainer Maria Rilke
As my son and I were driving home from a lacrosse match Saturday we noticed a Blue Heron perching on a log in a pond. Fortunately there was a place to pull over and I quickly did so. I was trying to capture the Blue Heron, which, as soon as I stopped, tucked it’s neck down and apparently went to sleep, when all of a sudden out of the corner of my eye I saw motion. I turned with my camera and shot a goose flying just over the water. Unfortunately my shutter speed wasn’t quite high enough or low enough to get an awesome shot. I wish I’d known he/she was coming because I could of changed my shutter speed, panned and had a great shot. But, alas, this is the shot I got and you definitely see and feel the motion despite the fact that it isn’t a shot intentionally taken.
