Blaze of Gladness in Black and White
Blaze of Gladness
Two images today…I love the sunflower in black and white but I just couldn’t leave you all with a black and white sunflower after a week of such vivid warmth. To me, both images are ablaze with light, but the sunflower in color provides more warmth….from sparks.
And this post wraps the 2013 Sunflower Series – for now…
“True friends are like bright sunflowers that never fade away, even over distance and time.” – Marie Williams Johnstone
This image paired with the quote reminded me of many of my dear friends who live both near and far. The quote defines our friendships; although the miles between us are considerable, and the days, weeks, months and sometimes years between our visits are many, our friendships never fade.
You’ve all seen the silly smiley faces cut into sunflowers, yes? Or the singing smiley faced sunflower, how about that one? Well, as ridiculous as I think they are, and I would never spend a penny on one of them, there is something to be said for them. Sunflowers do have the power to make a person smile. The warm glow of the yellow petals warms the heart. Once the heart is warm, a smile is automatic. If you’ve ever driven by a field of sunflowers, you know exactly what I am talking about. Do you agree?
