Independence

My 4 year old and her little friend decided they wanted their nails painted today.  When I offered to paint the nails for them I was very quickly told that they could do it themselves.  My thoughts immediately went to – “this has MESS written all over it”.  Just to be safe, we set the mobile spa up outside on the back porch on the plastic picnic table.   A mess it was but boy did those girls have fun.  The small dose of independence was good for them, I am sure, and they both felt such a sense of accomplishment.  It was priceless.  They were so proud of their polishing jobs they were giddy.
