“I’m sailing away, set an open course for the virgin sea
I’ve got to be free, free to face the life that’s ahead of me
On board, I’m the captain, so climb aboard
We’ll search for tomorrow on every shore
And I’ll try, oh Lord, I’ll try to carry on
I look to the sea, reflections in the waves spark my memory
Some happy, some sad
I think of childhood friends and the dreams we had
We live happily forever, so the story goes
But somehow we missed out on that pot of gold
But we’ll try best that we can to carry on
A gathering of angels appeared above my head
They sang to me this song of hope, and this is what they said
They said come sail away, come sail away
Come sail away with me
Come sail away, come sail away
Come sail away with me”

Nice memories that song..,beautiful image!
Lovely. As always.
After reading the words, I thought for a moment that your picture had a faint image of an angel in the sky. Then, alas, I put on my reading glasses and clicked on the image. 😦
A bird is a beautiful image, too, and your photography is wonderful.
I always loved the lyrics to that song, and find them perfect for your beautiful shot, Robyn. The flying spinnaker makes my heart soar!
“Come Sail Away” was my 1984 high school class song, so it brings back a lot of memories. Brings back sweet feelings. The photo is just gorgeous with the bright reds of the patterns on the sailboat and the mellow blues of the water and the sky. I just love that Robyn caught that eagle flying so gracefully. Love your work!
Thanks so much Karen! Truly appreciated!
